The Education Course addresses the following topics: Philosophical, scientific and historical foundations of Montessori's approach to education and its modernity; stages of childhood growth and whole development; the child in the family and the community; motor development and control of movement through daily life activities, music, rhythm and movement; sensorial foundations of intellectual life; the acquisition of spoken and graphic language; the early awareness and preparation of the mathematical mind; the presentation of scientific and cultural subjects; environmental design in the Montessori prepared environment; parent education and classroom management.
Our mission is to provide children with the best possible educators: individuals who respect the child and can support each child's needs. Teacher candidates will explore the necessary tools to foster the child's growth and development while providing "hands-on" experience that will encourage the child to develop a lifelong love and enthusiasm for discovery and learning.
Our vision calls upon us to prepare teacher-guides who affirm and promote the essential goodness, dignity, curiosity and freedom of all human beings. The goal of the Infant Toddler Teacher-Guide training program is to provide teacher-guide candidates with a thorough understanding of the first plane of development, to help them gain insights into the true nature of child development, the link to the home environment, partnership with parents, the use of developmentally appropriate Montessori materials and to respect the “absorbent mind”.
Our aim is to provide teacher-candidates with opportunities and resources to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and practical experiences to pursue a career as a caring, competent and qualified Montessori teacher-guide. There is high demand for qualified Montessori infant and toddler teacher-guides locally and internationally.
