  • Mathematics activities for 3-6 years old and 6 to 9 years old in the knowledge and understanding of numbers from one up to 999,999,999 throughout the four operations in the decimal system;
  • Science and culture activities for 3-6 years old and 6 to 9 years old in the exploration of time (history), space (geography), Botany and Zoology
  • Grace and Courtesy activities for 3-6 years old and 6 to 9 years old
  • Music and Movement activities for 0 to 3 years old, 3 to 6 years old and 6 to 9 years old


All seven Albums (Reference books) for the Early Childhood (3 to 6 years old),

seven albums at the Elementary I (6 to 9 years old)

and Infant (birth to 1 year old) album and Toddler (1 year old to 3 years old)

are given digitally at the beginning of each Avenue.

They can be obtained already printed in colour for a cost.


Share hands-on experiences with peers

  • Rich Online learning program divided into 25 sections for the Infant and Toddler, 49 Sections for the Early Childhood (3 to 6 years old) and 60 sections for Elementary 1 (6 to 9 years old), proposing compulsory readings throughout the program for each section;
  • Impressions of readings submitted to the supporting Mentor and shared with all fellow adult learners who already completed the appropriate Section;


  • Topics on Montessori basics and fundamentals on text and videos followed by questions to be submitted and shared with all peers who have completed the appropriate Section;


  • Interactive twelve (sixteen at Elementary 1) Zoom sessions throughout the program for questions and answers + adjustments with Montessori Master Teachers;
  • At determined dates specified in the Online Teacher Candidate Handbook, there are Zoom sessions at sections 1, 5, 6, 10, 11, 15, 16, 20, 21, and 25 for the Infant and Toddler program, sections 1, 5, 11, 16, 20, 25, 29, 34, 35, 40, 45 and 49 for the Early Childhood program and at sections 1, 5, 11, 16, 22, 25, 30, 34, 35, 37, 40, 45, 52, 56 and 60 for the Elementary I program;
  • Building a supportive community through all the sections plus a Residency component.

Residency component of 80 hours for recapitulation, performance examination with peers who have completed all 25 sections for the Online Infant and Toddler Online, 49 sections for the Online Early Childhood Montessori education training program and 60 for the Elementary Montessori education training program.


MACTE Certification

Complete your MACTE certification over 40 to 50 weeks. Prior to the residency component, the weekly amount of work needed to complete the three main programs average at about 10 to 15 hours. This will include compulsory readings, the submission of reading impressions to your personal Mentor, the submission of answers to questions relalted to topics of reflection, and completing the assigned work-to-do. 

The three main programs consist of 25 Infant and Toddler sections (ages 0 to 3 years old), 49 Early Childhood sections (3 to 6 years old) and 60 Elementary sections (6 to 9 years old) to be completed respectively.

The Canadian Montessori Teacher Education Institute (CMTEI) is fully-accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) to offer its three main programs.


Immerse yourself in an Internship in direct contact with Montessori children

Your Internship of 400 hours can start after 20% completion of the online learning component (from section 5 out of 25 for Infant and Toddler; from section 10 out of 49 for Early Childhood; and from section 12 out of 60 for Elementary I). 


Each Teacher candidate will be assigned an experienced Supervising Montessori teacher guide in a Montessori Host school; an Internship Coordinator will visit you in your classroom a minimum of three times in order to provide feedback on your progression, to give you support, to assess the Practicum tasks of your experience in a multi-age class involving observation as well as interaction.


Each person manages the 400 hours of their Internship in their Host School as you well know your availabilities.



Congregate in a residency for 80 hours with your fellow Teacher candidates

  • All Teacher candidates can participate to the residency component of 80 hours. It is mandatory by the accreditor. The Internship portion (400 hours) could be done before or after your residency.
  • In order to earn the MACTE accredited Montessori Diploma issued by CMTEI, each Teacher candidate, who has completed all sections of the appropriate program, has to fully participate to the residency component. 
  • For Early Childhood and Elementary online programs, the 80 hours of residency are offered during 5 specific weekends (Saturday and Sunday). As an alternative measure, due to far distance, you may be connected in a Montessori environment by Zoom to the training location. 
  • For Infant and Toddler online program, the 80 hours of residency are offered during two weeks of attendance in July and August (10 days).
  • In residency, Teacher candidates spend their time to recapitulate the presentation of activities in view of Performance Examinations in each of the classical avenues of the curriculum.
  • Sessions on Peace Education, Classroom Management, Music & Movement, Art for Children, Music with the Montessori Bells, Folk Dances for Children and Silence Game.
  • At the end of residency, Teacher candidates have their Final Written and Oral Examinations.
  • Completion of the Online Coursework, Internship and Residency experiences lead to the award of the MACTE accredited Montessori Diploma.
  • Location of the residency are in the Greater Toronto Area.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age and completion of Grade 12 (Secondary school) or equivalency;
  • Computer literacy (camera and microphone necessary for Zoom meetings), knowledge of Internet and document editing (especially Word and Adobe programs) as well as presentation building programs (Google slides, PowerPoint etc.);
  • Online program is in English, a good standard of spoken and written English is a necessity;
  • Resume, photocopy of Diploma(s) and a small picture of you (A selfie is fine);
  • Background Check + Medical Immunisation in preparation for your Internship.

A sum of $6,300.00 represents the Tuition fees payable in 4 installments: . 

For Infant and Toddler:


  • $1,575.00 at Section 2
  • $1,575.00 at Section 7

For Early Childhood:


  • $1,575.00 at Section 2
  • $1,575.00 at Section 19
  • $1,575.00 at Section 28
  • $1,575.00 at Section 38



For Elementary:


  • $1,575.00 at Section 2
  • $1,575.00 at Section 16
  • $1,575.00 at Section 37
  • $1,575.00 at Section 52



Other costs, if any, include your travel and accommodation to the Residency. There is a $300.00 for the Final Examination fees during the residency component. This Examination fee includes the MACTE fees for certification.

  • As soon as you receive an Acceptance Letter from the Director of the Institute, Dr. Daniel Jutras, a Usersname and a password will be attributed to get access to your documents starting excitedly by Session 1.
